Eat with Muslims Dinners and Events
“One Cup of Tea,” September 22, 2017
Eat With Muslims joined hands in friendship with St. James Episcopal Church in Kent for dinner and a one-act play called “One Cup Of Tea.” It was written and performed by Reverend Joyce Barry Moore and Fathia Absie. The twenty-minute act, which started after dinner, was about two women neighbors of different faiths who one day sit together to share a cup of tea. The candid conversation about what they saw as their differences brings them closer than they thought was possible. Their characters, Maryan and Cynthia, asked the tough questions most people shy away from because we do not want to offend one another. At the end of the play, the two women embark on what seems to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
